The Times-Standard is always a generous supporter of Arcata Main Street’s Oyster Festival, and this year was no exception. Attendance goals were achieved by providing us with a variety of opportunities to get the word out about our 25th Anniversary celebration.
Their pre-event piece made us proud, and then their story afterwards .. aw shucks!
The Blue Lake Casino partnered with us in a few ways. In addition to financial backing, they shared our vision and goal of reducing waste from this huge event. For the first time, 10,000+ plastic cups were replaced by refillable and reusable steel cups. They also found a way to use the oyster shells and keep them from the landfill. We’re excited to see all their own environmentally friendly projects come to fruition in the years ahead.
